South Sudan showcase strives to achieve SDG6 amidst the protracted crisis and severe impacts of climate change by leveraging the powers of effective partnership of community, civil society and international partners under the overall direction and coordination of the government, that highlights key lessons, opportunities and ambitious of our government commitments towards global targets.

In summary, this increasingly complex and inter-connected risk landscape has resulted in compound risks. Climate challenges interact with existing vulnerability with joint implications for humanitarian and development needs and conflict dynamics because of more frequent and changing shocks and stressors. Globally, climate change tends to be viewed as a potential ‘threat/risk multiplier’, with the potential for climate change affecting all stages of the conflict cycle, hindering development. A collective approach across the Humanitarian – Development – Peace nexus will be particularly relevant to understanding, adapting, mitigating and responding to such compound risks.
