Nearly 20 years ago, Hurricane Katrina pummeled New Orleans and other parts of the American Southeast. In subsequent years, the Netherland-America Foundation started a water management program in coordination with the Fulbright Commission to allow American students to study water and flood management at Technische Universiteit Delft, also known as TU Delft, in the Netherlands. This world-renowned university is located in a country well-known for its water management strategies.

Fast forward to 2023, and many of these former Fulbright fellows are still active in the water management space. What did these students learn, and how have they been able to enact change since? Hear from them as they discuss the knowledge exchange of water between cultures.

Moderated by Dr. Raha Hakimdavar, CEO at Zyon Space, panelists include:

  • Alissa Albrecht, US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Aria Hamann Duncan, Earth System Science PhD Candidate at Stanford University
  • Maddie Keefer, Water Resources Engineer at Tetra Tech
