Take a walk through New York’s water history
New York Water Week offers many chances to explore the city’s fascinating water history. You can join one of the many organized tours and events that are part of the program or download the Together We Walk App.
A broad range of organizations have taken the opportunity to offer their take on New York’s rich history, wildlife, and special connection with water. There will for example be a Water Angel Ceremony in Central Park on 21 March and a lecture on the role of architecture and history in the series United Nations of Rivers, Deltas and Estuaries.
Another example is Together We Walk, which is an initiative to discuss how water can be placed at the center of urban development. On 24 March, they will host an event with a knowledge exchange and a joint walk. But if you don’t have time to take part in that particular activity, you can download the Together We Walk app and stroll down water memory lane at your own pace!
