This pre-conference event will focus on giving momentum to a future World Water and Sanitation Workforce initiative, introducing the dilemmas facing the workforce, sharing what exists already in terms of addressing the issue, discussing how the organizations present can contribute towards such an initiative and what pledges can be made to start working towards a future initiative’s objectives.

We all know about the current global water crisis and the reasons why we are meeting in New York. Less at the forefront of the discussions that will take place during that week are the issues of the water and sanitation workforce, addressing the current professional and gender gaps that exist and how these are set to worsen in the future when the situation becomes ever more critical.
